The University of Hawaii at Hilo Vulcans women's volleyball team didn’t waste time in moving on from their streak-snapping loss to Concordia Irvine on Oct. 25.

On Oct. 27, UH Hilo recorded a 25-20, 25-12, 25-17 victory over Point Loma Nazarene University at Golden Gymnasium in San Diego, which was one of the program’s most dominant wins, according to The Official Athletics Site of Hawaii at Hilo.

Sophomore middle blocker/outside hitter Kamilla Marinas powered the Vulcans attack with 12 kills and a .400 hitting percentage.

Defensively, freshman libero (defensive specialist) Tani Hoke ran the show with 19 digs, while senior middle blocker Ashton Jessee chipped in nine kills and three blocks.

It was UH Hilo’s eighth sweep of the season, which improved their overall mark to 13-3, according the UH Hilo Athletics website.

The Vulcans were gearing for their final Southern California matchup against the Biola University Eagles on Oct. 29, which ended in disappointing a 0-3 loss. The Vulcans were slated to play Azusa Pacific University, but the match was postponed because of APU's COVID-19 protocols, according to the UH Hilo Athletics website.
