The University of Hawaii (UH) at Hilo finished in sixth place at the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate men's golf tournament at the Waikoloa Beach Course.
Junior Keith Ng, a newcomer from the University of British Columbia, shot a final round 68, according to The Official Athletics Site of Hawaii at Hilo.
UH compiled a team tally of 288 on Oct. 27 for an overall three-day score of +34, jumping three total spots in the 12-team standings from the first day, the school reported.
Other Vulcan scores on Oct. 27 included: Dustin Franko (72), Andrew Otani (72), Noah Lau (77), Nicholas Gomez (76), Junghwan Lee (79) and Ethan Hironaga (75). Franko finished in a tie for 13th in the medalist count, and Otani was 32nd.
The Colorado Christian University Cougars clinched the team title by 10 strokes.
According to the Hilo Athletics website, the Cougars bested the Western New Mexico University Mustangs, Cal State San Bernardino Coyotes, Simon Fraser University and Hawaii Pacific University Sharks, in addition to UH.
The end of the tournament also marked the end of the Vulcans’ fall campaign.
The program will return to action with an appearance at the Amer Ari Intercollegiate Thursday to Saturday, Feb. 3 to 5, at the Hapuna Golf Club in Waimea.
