The University of Hawaii at Hilo soccer forward Daelenn Tokunaga was named a First Team Scholar All-American.

Tokunaga, who is a junior studying for her bachelor's degree in administration of justice, ended the fall semester with a 3.75 GPA. This, among other requirements, made her eligible for the 2021 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Women’s Scholar All-America Team.

“The All-America Ceremony will honor All-America players at the youth, high school and college levels with the purpose of celebrating the best amateur soccer players in the United States in 2021,” according to Hilo Athletics.

The All-America Ceremony and Reception will be held on Saturday, Jan. 22, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Tokunaga led the Vulcans to their first conference title and their first appearance in the NCAA West Regional. She was also previously named PacWest Player of the Year and D2CCA First Team All-West Region, Hilo Athletics reported.
