UH Hilo Vulcans women's basketball team marks its biggest lead of the season after defeating Chaminade University

The University of Hawaii at Hilo women's basketball team recorded a 47-point win over Chaminade University of Honolulu Feb. 9.

The Vulcans ended the game at the Silverswords’ home court, McCabe Gymnasium, at 75-28.

"It was a good win," head coach David Kaneshiro said, according to the Official Athletics Site of Hawaii at Hilo. "Back-to-back games are not easy, so I was very proud of how hard our team played tonight."

The Vulcans, who played against the Hawaii Pacific University Sharks a day prior to its game with Silverswords, earned a 10-7 overall standing and 7-6 in the PacWest Conference, according the University of Hawaii at Hilo.

Twenty-three of UH Hilo's rebounds were offensive, in which the 6-foot center, Nikki Miller, led the court with 13 rebounds. Bree Olson had nine rebounds and Noelle Sua-Godinet collected six.

The Vulcans played Academy of Art University yesterday in a disappointing 47-56 loss. That game will be followed by upcoming match-ups with Holy Names University, Fresno Pacific University, Dominican University of California and one more with Chaminade University to finish out the month.
