New COVID-19 cases in Hawaii County were up 0.8% over the past two weeks, with the average number of daily cases over the past week reaching 78, according to data from the state’s Department of Health.
The level of new daily COVID-19 cases in Hawaii County based on a seven-day average stands at 37.6 per 100,000 people, the agency reported.
The total number of coronavirus cases recorded on the Big Island since the pandemic began was 35,717, according to the department’s data. The current percentage of patients testing positive for the virus is 12.5.
The share of the Big Island’s population that is now fully vaccinated is 69%. And total COVID-19 deaths in Hawaii County now number 197.
Over the past week, the number of coronavirus tests performed on the Big Island was 449, the Department of Health said.
