Mrs. Hiroko Segawa, age 80, of Hilo, Hawaii, died July 9, 2022 in the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Facility in Hilo. She was born in Muroran, Hokkaido, Japan on March 17, 1942 and was a housewife. She was a member of the Higashi Hongwanji Buddhist Temple. Private services held. No flowers. No Koden (monetary offerings). She is survived by husband, Douglas Segawa of Hilo; sons, Chris (Luanne) Segawa of Waikele, Kyle (Tammy) Segawa of Kailua-Kona and Dary Segawa of Hilo; brothers, Noboru Hayashi of Japan and Yoichi Hayashi of Japan; sisters, Yoshiko (Kurt) Van Voorhies of Michigan, Kinue Robbie of California and Yumiko Oi of Japan; four grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
