Subaru Hawai'i announced the launch of "Tools for Schools," an initiative that Subaru Hawai'i has pledged $25,000 to fund project ideas by public and public charter school teachers across Hawai'i.
"We know that many local educators are familiar with DonorsChoose already, so we hope this is exciting for our teachers," Lance Ichimura, senior vice president of Subaru Hawaiʻi said. "Over 7,000 Hawai'i teachers have posted projects since 2010. Teachers are the foundation of our keiki's education, and we hope the Tools for Schools program lessens their financial burden. Our goal is to support as many local educators as possible."
Subaru Hawai'i has rolled out its "Tools for Schools" program, in which they've committed $25,000 to support project concepts put forth by teachers from public and public charter schools throughout Hawai'i. Through August, educators in the local community have the opportunity to request funding for project resources such as supplies, technology, and instructional materials.
Subaru Hawai'i will assess and choose projects by September 30. Once approved, DonorsChoose will take care of purchasing the requested items and delivering them straight to teachers. Subaru Hawai'i's goal is to support projects that impact students across the State, spanning both rural and urban areas. Teachers interested in applying can visit community.subaruhawaii.com/toolsforschools/ to set up a profile and request supplies required for their project. To be considered, project requests must be submitted by Aug.31.
According to additional information provided by Subaru Hawai'i, each teacher is allowed a single DonorChoose account, and is limited to submitting just one project proposal. Given the substantial number of project proposals, it's important to note that not all requests will be selected during the campaign. However, teachers have the option to keep their projects visible on the DonorsChoose platform for a span of four months, enabling friends, family and community contributors to assist in funding a project.
