Businesses in Hawaii registered in quarter two (April through June) have been reminded to file their annual reports online by June 30, 2024, to avoid late filing penalties. The Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) issued a news release emphasizing the importance of timely filing to maintain good standing.

According to the DCCA, LLCs, profit corporations, and LLPs are required to pay $12.50 for filing their annual reports online, while nonprofit corporations are charged $2.50, and partnerships $5.00. Accepted forms of payment include credit card, eCheck, or through an eHawaii.gov subscriber account.

"Businesses are encouraged to monitor their business information online and timely file reports to keep the entity in good standing, which may be a prerequisite for qualifying for contracts, loans and other forms of business assistance," said the DCCA.

For those who are delinquent in filing their Hawaii annual reports, an online submission is available with a $10.00 late fee assessed per year delinquent.

The filing quarters for annual reports are categorized as first quarter (January through March), second quarter (April through June), third quarter (July through September), and fourth quarter (October through December).

The DCCA also warned businesses to be cautious of any correspondence not originating from the state of Hawaii Business Registration Division, emphasizing that the division does not endorse or utilize the services of any third-party company for collecting or filing annual business reports.

Moreover, starting January 1, 2023, reminders from the Business Registration Division have shifted from mailed reminders to an electronic notification system through MyBusiness Notifications, available at https://hbe.ehawaii.gov/documents/notify/myNotifications.

Businesses are advised to stay updated with their filing obligations and take advantage of the online filing system to ensure compliance with the state regulations.
