The Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) in Hawaii has released a summary of disciplinary actions taken against individuals and entities holding professional and vocational licenses through October 2024. These actions are based on contested case hearings or settlement agreements aimed at conserving the expenses associated with administrative hearings.

The DCCA, along with its Boards and Commissions, ensures that license holders meet state law standards. Among the cases highlighted is that of Su Builders, Inc., and Sam Su Chon, who were fined $3,500 for various violations related to construction plans and licensing classifications.

Walgreens.com, Inc., operating as Walgreens #02445, was fined $2,000 for failing to report disciplinary actions from Texas in a timely manner. In another case, Malcom E. Hickman Jr.'s veterinary license was suspended until proof of completed continuing education hours is provided.

Medical professionals also faced sanctions. Kyle K. Chong received a $1,500 fine for allegedly providing false information regarding malpractice claims on a renewal application. Sinikka Liisa Green was fined $1,200 for not notifying the Board about disciplinary action from Maryland promptly.

Chris A. Boulange voluntarily surrendered his medical license following a guilty judgment for unlawful distribution of hydrocodone by the United States District Court in Hawaii.

Details of these decisions can be accessed online at the DCCA's official website.
