The Hawai‘i Department of Health (DOH) has granted TCG Retro Market 1, operating as Cure Oahu, permission to proceed with its third retail facility after passing a final on-site inspection. The new dispensary is located at 70 Kihapai St. in Kailua and is set to commence sales on December 5, 2024.

This new location will be the tenth retail dispensary on Oʻahu and the twenty-fifth across the state. As of December 2, 2024, there are 30,035 registered in-state patients and 2,609 caregivers statewide. On Oʻahu alone, there are 14,798 patients and 1,463 caregivers registered. Severe pain is the most commonly reported condition among adult patients, while severe pain, post-traumatic stress disorder, and seizures are prevalent among patients under eighteen.

“Cure Oahu’s new dispensary in Kailua will provide much-needed access to patients on the windward side of Oʻahu,” stated DOH Dispensary Licensing Supervisor Liam Gimon.

Other licensed retail centers operate across Hawai‘i Island, Kauaʻi, Maui, and Oʻahu. Registered patients and their caregivers can purchase up to four ounces of medical cannabis within a fifteen-day period and a maximum of eight ounces over thirty days. Purchased medical cannabis must be transported home in a sealed container that is not visible to the public.

Medical cannabis use is restricted to private property and prohibited in moving vehicles or public spaces such as workplaces, beaches, hiking trails, or federally owned properties like military installations and national parks.
