Census Bureau: 79 percent of people in Hilo were old enough to vote in 2019

Of the 45,056 citizens living in Hilo in 2019, 35,586 were old enough to vote as of Jan. 26, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.

The bureau reported 18,560 of those people were female and 17,026 were male.
