Faith-based group hosts Kids' Day at correctional center

Incarcerated mothers spent time with their children for Kids’ Day in a belated Mother’s Day celebration at the Women’s Community Correctional Center (WCCC) on June 1, 2024. Thirteen mothers and 23 children participated in the event, which was originally scheduled for mid-May but rescheduled due to heavy rains.
Senior medicare patrol Hawaii raises awareness during medicare fraud prevention week

In response, Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) Hawai‘i, a program of the Executive Office on Aging (EOA), is organizing Medicare Fraud Prevention Week from June 3-9. The event aims to educate the public on how to stay safe from Medicare fraud.
Governor Green's emergency proclamation addresses loss of telecom services

The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL) has expressed gratitude to Governor Green for issuing an Emergency Proclamation aimed at addressing the sudden loss of critical phone and internet services provided by Sandwich Isles Communications (SIC). The proclamation will enable DHHL and other agencies to expedite assistance to affected households and businesses on Hawaiian Home Lands.
